Global: JRS Easter Message
01 April 2018

Mass at Dzaleka refugee camp in Malawi. (JRS)

Rome, 1 April 2018 – On Easter night churches around the world resound to the words of the Easter Proclamation:

“The sanctifying power of this night dispels all wickedness, washes faults away, restores innocence to the fallen, and joy to mourners, drives out hatred, fosters concord, and brings down the mighty.”

The gospels tell us that an angel rolled away the stone so that Christ could rise triumphant from his tomb. This Easter we pray that the stone of hatred and fear may be rolled away from our hearts, so that the hope may be kindled anew in communities that are ravaged by violence, and among people who have known only rejection and exclusion.

JRS wishes all our friends and supporters a Happy Easter.
