Johannesburg, 9 February 2016 - Very few Faith Based Organisations (FBOs) or Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) have an entire radio segment dedicated to them. However Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS), Southern Africa Region is fortunate to have a weekly, half an hour long slot on South Africa’s premiere Catholic Radio station, Radio Veritas!
The show will be aired live every Monday afternoon, and the JRS Southern Africa feature starts at 16:30 PM. The JRS Southern Africa Communications Officer, Gushwell Brooks, who has a background in talk radio, will host the show. The show will feature JRS staff, refugees and asylum seekers we work with and focus on the work of JRS in the region as well as the plight of displaced people.
Radio Veritas broadcasts via 576 AM frequency, but can also be live streamed via the internet as well as Channel 870, via the DSTV (satellite television) Audio Bouquet. The slot will be available as a podcast via the Radio Veritas website and can be listened to online or is available for download. The podcasts will be shared weekly, via this website.
