Isabelle Shively has worked as the JRS International Communications Assistant since September 2017. Originally from a small town outside of Seattle, she has lived in New Delhi, India and Vicenza, Italy. Before moving to Rome, she called Chicago her home.
In December 2016, Isabelle graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a BA in International Studies. Her undergraduate coursework focused mainly on peace and conflict studies, and cultural anthropology. She also has a post-graduate diploma in human rights and forced displacement.
Before joining JRS, Isabelle worked for ART WORKS Projects for Human Rights, Congo Kids Initiative, and the Pan-African Association. Certified in TEFL/TESOL, she has taught English in both the US and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Isabelle enjoys mint tea, being outdoors, and the colour yellow. She is in constant pursuit of a more just and compassionate world.
