Born in Italy, Cecilia Bock joined JRS in 2003 as Assistant Programmes Coordinator. In 2004 she was Programmes Coordinator and in 2016 she became Programmes Director.
She studied Political Science at La Sapienza University in Rome and went on to get a master's degree in Environment and Development from London School of Oriental and African Studies. Cecilia has further training on issues of forced migration from the University of Oxford, and the international rights of refugees from the International Institute for Humanitarian Law.
Before working with JRS she worked with Caritas Spain as a Sudan Programmes Field Coordinator in Kenya, Caritas Italy in the Africa Department in Rome, and the Federation of Italian NGOs and the Food and Agriculture Organization as a consultant.
