Learn more about the JRS work on detention

Jesuit Refugee Service works in detention centres in Europe, the Americas and Asia. Services provided by staff range widely, from pastoral care to legal advice, depending on the needs of detainees and the regulations set down by governments. In all cases, JRS advocates on behalf of detainees to ensure international law and human dignity are respected Psychosocial support is also offered to help detainees deal with the emotional factors associated with separation from family, loss of economic stability, and pending legal decisions.
